The NYS TESOL Journal is the official journal of NYS TESOL- New York State Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. It is a refereed academic journal published biannually each winter and summer. Articles in the NYS TESOL Journal focus on theory, research, pedagogy, and educational policy related to the teaching of English to speakers of other languages, including U.S.-born bilinguals, "generation 1.5" students, immigrants, and international students. Articles may focus on any educational level, from kindergarten to university, as well as on adult school and workplace literacy settings.

The publisher of this journal is NYS TESOL, an association of professionals concerned with the education of English language learners at all levels of public and private education in New York State. Our interests include classroom practices, research, program and curriculum development, employment, funding, and legislation.

The NYS TESOL Journal is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), SHERPA/RoMEO, Ulrichs Serials Directory, the International ISSN database, and World Cat. Our acceptance rate is 30%.
